Excellent Free To Do List Software

There are basically two steps in life:
- Pick a good destination - example: "Make the world a better place"
- Streamline your steps in going toward that destiny
At the end of life (and during your entire life), the amount of fulfilment that you experience is directly proportional to what you have been able to do to help you become more of the person that you want to be (your destiny).
I just found this excellent free software for making To Do Lists that helps you a lot in streamlining the steps to your destiny. The software allows you to dump the contents of the "list of things" you are trying to do to a database so that you can start concentrating on getting things done.
You can download the To Do List Software here:
Abstract Spoon To Do List
The To Do List is written in .NET and you can down load the source code, but I just downloaded the executable.
What I like about the software is that it allows you write comments for each task. I just start out by creating a list of general tasks, and then break them down into steps while I am working on the individual task. You can easily break down the tasks into steps by using the rich text editor for comments and using numbered lists. The rich text editor makes it easy to "Scratch off" the steps with the "line-though" font when you finish each step.
I also like the timer feature that you can use to keep track of how much time you are spending on a specific task. Humans are goal-oriented and having an egg-timer going in the background while you are working on something can go a long ways towards creating a sense of urgency and keeping you focused.
The To Do List comes with a great sample to do list that gives a high level overview of how to use all of the features. There is also wonderful documentation on everything included in a documentation to do list.
Note: If you use the To Do List to help you use Progress Monitor, you can can put hyperlinks in the comments to go directly to the checklist in Progress Monitor for video series you are watching.
